Watch this space. …. seriously, that really sums me up quite well. But I guess it’s a bit rude to leave it at that.

So maybe the ABOUT used on twitter would do: geek freak academic lunatic, who dreams of space travel on broom sticks, while plotting revolutions in Science, dabbles in art love and life. … I really like that, and it does give you a lot of info in just a few words.

What it doesn’t tell you is that I’m a German in a strange land that sort of keeps me hostage. I’ve lived in the UK since 9/11/2001 (no joke, and yes, that is not funny anyway) and have now ended up in York, where my day job involves influencing intelligent young people and giving them lots of work to do. =) … oh, I LOVE my job.

When I don’t get to torture brilliant young minds into thinking my way, I spend my time fiddling with my hands. Yes, I am one of those strange creatures who can’t sit still and always have to do something with their hands. They’re called artists (or at least wannabes) and they end up producing things with paper, paint, charcoal, fabric, fimo even. lol.

I am also a scatterbrain, I am interested in *everything*, except sports and maths, and I am particularly fond of literature, film, esp Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, … and ethnography, sociology, history, etc.and being a Mac enthusiast and technology fan you can imagine that I spend a lot of time online, or listening to podcasts, and it also means I jump up and down for joy when I see the newest gadget involving cute little buttons and an LED screen.

In that spirit, posts on this blog will be rather eclectic, filled with images of the things I create with my hands, comments on the things I love (or hate) and the verbal diarrhea I create with my mind. Consider yourselves warned.

    Greatly excellent.

  2. I love the quilts, I am a mosaic artist living in York and I have just spent the half term with my 11 year old daughter in the quilt museum and the art gallery doing Sashiko sewing
